Delivery commission vs a flat fee — calculate your saving

A restaurant doing €4,000 of monthly delivery sales at a 25–30% commission pays about €1,000–1,200 per month — €12,000–14,400 a year — in commission alone. An own ordering system at a flat €99/month costs €1,188 a year, a saving of roughly €10,800–13,200 per year. Why a flat fee beats a percentage

Commission isn’t a fixed euro amount — it’s a slice of every dish you sell. The better you do, the more you pay. A flat €99/month works the opposite way: it stays the same at 50 or 5,000 orders. Growth belongs to you, not the platform.

When an own system is worth it — and when it isn’t

Worth it when:

  • Your monthly platform sales exceed ~€350–400 (commission > €99)
  • You have returning regulars you could steer direct
  • You lean on pickup or dine-in, where the margin is best

Think carefully when:

  • · You sell very little and occasionally — commission may stay below €99
  • · All your customers come purely from the platform’s new traffic (then keep both: the app acquires, your own store retains)
